JOEL NETSHITENZHE TO DELIVER A KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT THE BLACK EXCELLENCE AWARDS IN HONOUR OF THE LATE KHEHLA MTHEMBU.

The Executive Director of the Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA), Joel Netshitenzhe, will deliver a keynote address at the Black Excellence Awards 2023 in honour of the late Khehla Mthembu on Friday, 31 March 2023, at Killarney Country Club (KCC), Johannesburg. 

Mthembu is the founding member of Golf and Beyond (GAB) and was instrumental in setting up the Black Excellence Awards and the golf club as a vehicle to associate and interact with people and organisations committed to impacting the lives of the less privileged so that they too do not endure poverty in perpetuity.

Business giant and former president of the Azanian People’s Organisation (Azapo) Mthembu passed away on 7 July 2021, due to COVID-related complications. He was the Chairman of GAB at the time of his passing. 

Golf and Beyond will honour him at its Annual Black Excellence Dinner on Friday, 31 March 2023 at 18:00 at Killarney Golf Club with the renowned and celebrated revolutionary, struggle veteran, policy genius, and public intellectual, Joel Netshitenzhe.

The Chairman of the GAB Club, Prof. Itumeleng Mosala, says Netshitenzhe will talk about

the meaning of "Black Excellence" in the context of the current plethora of crises in South Africa, "One Step Forward, Two Steps Back?"

The day will resume with Mthembu’s passionate game of golf and conclude with the awards at the dinner at KCC. Interested parties are welcome to purchase a four-ball and dinner table.
